Nomination for annual Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik (German Record Critics’ Award)

Just this past February, the debut release of the young ensemble LUX:NM on GENUIN classics (in co-production with Deutschlandfunk) won the quarterly German Record Critics’ Award in the Contemporary Music category. Now all the 2017 awards have been reviewed once again to select the best releases, and the GENUIN CD Luxus was nominated for the annual award. The recording includes commissioned works by Paul Frick and Gordon Kampe, and the jury explained its selection in the following
statement:

The ensemble LUX:NM, based in Berlin and active since 2010, emphasizes a high degree of collaboration between the musicians and composers, proving in its debut album that the close interplay between composition and interpretation can bear splendid fruit. Four of these five consistently excellent works were composed specifically for this project, and they all benefit from the high quality of the ensemble’s playing – sheer luxury! (For the jury: Marita Emigholz)
