MDR recording featuring works by Arvo Pärt at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig

The Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, this year's prominent "composer in residence" of the MDR Symphony Orchestra, came to Leipzig to accompany the orchestral production of his music for a week. In the presence of both the composer and his son Michael Pärt, GENUIN sound engineer Holger Busse recorded numerous orchestral works on Friday that had been performed as part of the Bach Festival on this past Sunday's MDR matinee concert. The MDR Symphony Orchestra was under the direction of its chief conductor Kristjan Järvi, who has held a close and long-standing friendship with his fellow countryman.
